HUMANKIND 2 FAQ
HUMANKIND 2 is announced and unreleased. These answers come from the Steam store page, the 25 August 2026 press release, and Amplitude's community post from that day. When a fact has not been published, the answer says it is unknown.
Is HUMANKIND 2 out?
No. Steam says the game is not yet available and shows a coming-soon panel. The planned release year is 2027. This guide does not describe the game as something a person can launch and play today.
When does it release?
The published plan is PC in 2027. Steam's planned-release field is the year 2027. The 25 August 2026 announcement uses the same year. No day and no month appear in those sources. 25 August 2026 is the announcement date, not a ship date. A Steam event on 15 October 2026 was a gameplay-overview listing, not a launch.
Which platforms are confirmed?
PC, via Steam. Steam lists Windows and does not list macOS or Linux. The press release says "coming to PC in 2027" and does not name a console. Controller-support flags on the captured Steam page are not turned on. That can change later. It is not a listing this guide can stretch.
Who makes it?
AMPLITUDE Studios is the developer and the publisher on Steam. The press release identifies the company as Amplitude Studios SAS, a Paris studio founded in 2011. The same release says the team is about 140 developers and that the studio's games have reached more than 10 million players. Those last two figures are the company's description of itself.
How do I wishlist it?
On the Steam store page for AppID 2581850. Steam's coming-soon panel asks players to add the game to a wishlist and get a notice when it becomes available. The button on this guide goes to that page: Wishlist HUMANKIND 2 on Steam.
What does it cost?
No price is listed. The captured page has no purchase package and no buy button. The store data does not mark the app as free. A future price is unknown, including any edition split.
Are there reviews or scores?
Steam shows "No user reviews." This guide does not invent a critic score, a user score, or a Metacritic number. The press release calls the 2021 game critically acclaimed. That phrase is about the earlier game, and it still is not a number.
What kind of game is it?
Steam's short description calls it a historical turn-based strategy game about evolving cultures, cities, armies, and a changing climate. The genre field is Strategy. Which languages does Steam list?
Nine: English, French, German, Spanish - Spain, Korean, Polish, Portuguese - Brazil, Russian, and Simplified Chinese. English is marked for full audio. The others are marked for interface and subtitles, and full audio is not marked. The table is on the release page.
Are there PC requirements?
Yes. Steam prints a minimum and a recommended specification, including Windows 10 or Windows 11, 8 GB or 12 GB of memory, and 20 GB of storage. They are copied on the release page and labeled as store text that can change before launch. This guide did not invent a spec sheet. The sheet was already on Steam.
Is multiplayer confirmed?
Steam lists a Multi-player feature, and a content note mentions in-game chat and online interactivity. Single-player is listed too. The announcement does not describe player counts, co-op, or competitive modes. Those details are unknown.
Where was it announced?
At gamescom Opening Night Live, in a press release datelined Paris, 25 August 2026. Amplitude posted "Humankind 2 Revealed - Coming 2027" on its community site the same day. Steam is the wishlist destination the announcement names.
Can I write to this site with a correction?
No. The about page is the only contact statement, and it says no direct contact or corrections channel is currently available for this site. Official studio channels are listed on sources because they belong to AMPLITUDE Studios, not because this guide receives messages there.
If a later reveal names a day, a price, or a system this FAQ calls unknown, the honest update is to change the answer, not to guess early.
